The Ak Saray Palace, meaning "White Palace," in Shakhrisabz, is a monumental ruin that once stood as a symbol of Timur's (Tamerlane's) power and ambition. Unfortunately, much of the palace was destroyed over the centuries, leaving only the massive gateway standing as a testament to its former glory. Transportation
Shakhrisabz is accessible by shared taxi or bus from Samarkand. Shared taxis are faster and more comfortable, taking around 1.5-2 hours. Buses are a more budget-friendly option but take longer, around 2-3 hours. From the Shakhrisabz bus station or taxi stand, you can easily hire a local taxi to reach the Ak Saray Palace. The palace is also within walking distance of the city center.
